Marrakech - ancient vestiges

In the southern part of Marrakech city, there are the Saadian Tombs.

After lunch and shopping for spices and herbs, we were heading casually to the palace Dar Si Said. At the entrance, the guard told us it was closing in 10 minutes but he was nice to still let us in. We weren't aware that most monuments to visit close around 5pm. If you go to Marrakech, I'd advise to do all cultural visits in the morning while the weather is cooler. When we were there, morning or evening, it was over 40°C, there wasn't much difference tough. There is also a musuem right next to the palace which seems to be worth visiting.

And this is the final post on Marrakech. Soon, I'll be back with news from Paris I've been stacking. See you...

Marrakech - spices and flavors

Marrakech - streets views

It's quite amazing how cars, horse cars, buses, camels, taxis, bicycles, motorcycles can be all on the same roads.

Marrakech, the red city?

Oranges are everywhere, it's the orange juice kingdom!
You get the most freshly squeezed glass of juice for 30 cents.
Olives... I wonder... are they edible just like this?
I've ever only eaten them seasoned...
Grapefruit, not ripe yet...
The spiky ones...
the bizarre spiky ones...
and the huge graffitied spiky one.

Different views of the souk

The narrow streets of th souk are so different between early morning and after when all is open and filled with people. It was kind of difficult to find our way back in the maze of crowded streets.

 All quiet early morning
Windows are all open to the inside courtyard.
Only doors are seen from the narrow streets.
Farmers delivering to shops with their donkeymobile
Bargains, bargains...
 And the carpets, of course!

Want some tea?

The last weeks were crazily buzy. I just couldn't find time to post. I haven't been lazing around though. I've been trying new addresses in Paris and collected the pics. Now that I'm back on track (almost), you'll soon be bored to get updates every day.

But before getting to the "older" Paris items, I'm gonna share images fresh from my recent trip to Morocco. Everything there is so colorful so it needed no effort to get these nice pics.
